Pet Odor Remediation

Clean the affected area with Nature's Miracle (Pets Mart or Petco). Once the area has dried you should paint the joists and subfloor to seal the wood and smell in. The damaged hardwood floor boards will have to be replaced by a contractor. Also do not use bleach or ammonia, as cat pee contains them and it will enhance the odor.

For anything having to do with floors, we go to Angel Floors, a small, family business with exceptional craftspeople, excellent customer service and reasonable prices. They have done all kinds of work for us, including integrating new flooring into old where a room had been extended, and doing it so no one could tell; refinishing a whole house; reflooring our back porch, etc. They have done work for many people in Takoma and Shepherd and everyone has been very satisfied.

Call owner/estimator Roxana Contreras (301) 942-6435.

We have 2 cats and we've been using Anti-Icky Poo (by Mister Max) for scent/urine removal from furniture, carpeting, clothing, leather, etc. It's supposed to be the best and my wife swears by it--she also uses it for urine odor removal for her parent's laundry--they're in an assisted living facility). We usually get it thru amazon.com by the gallon.
