Alix Myerson and Aelita Brolis are not just simply real estate agents—they provide an extraordinary buying and/or selling experience. Alix and Aelita understand that every real estate transaction imposes some degree of stress on you and it’s their goal to relieve as much of that stress as possible. They are committed to working with your needs—they accommodate your schedule, hold early morning and late night meetings, pick you up at the office for a quick lunch-hour peek at homes, and work by fax, phone and email whether you are in-town, out-of-town on business or living abroad. They go above and beyond the ordinary, all with great good humor.

For the client who had to move to a different city before putting her DC condo on the market, Alix and Aelita not only laid out a marketing strategy that resulted in a quick sale but also helped organize and supervise the move. For a couple selling their home in Maryland, Alix’s expertise took their stress level down to zero by recommending cosmetic improvements and also scheduling and overseeing the work. As a result, the sellers received multiple offers, all of them for more than the asking price.

Alix and Aelita take buyers through every step of the process of buying a home. They analyze different types of available loans, draft the strongest possible offer and help find reliable contractors for improvements/repairs. They provide information about commuting options, neighborhood amenities and anything else necessary to ease the home-buying process. In short, they will make your home-buying easy, relaxed and fun. They won’t abandon you after closing either. They are always available to their clients, providing them with updates on the market, explaining how new housing legislation may affect them or just helping smooth the transition into a new neighborhood.

Both Alix and Aelita bring years of people-focused experience to their work as REALTORs®. Alix has lived in Washington for 37 years. She served as president and CEO of a firm which developed secondary education and career opportunity programs for at-risk young people and has worked for many non-profit agencies. Aelita, a native of the area, also has years of experience in non-profit management and project execution. Before becoming a real estate agent she lived in Latvia where she was the executive director of a non-profit group protecting the rights of children and families. She has also been involved with the American Red Cross—International Services division.

In their spare time, the two women enjoy a variety of activities. Alix is reader – of cereal boxes and major biographies and everything in between, who loves tending her “wild acres,” a typical overstuffed city garden. Leisure hours find Aelita playing in the kitchen as well as studying nutrition, gardening, exploring the city on long walks, and renovating her DC home.
